In 2008 a family from Germany packed up and moved north to Finland. Eighteen years, one blog and a good many winters later, this is our corner of the web: the story so far, the places that shaped it, and — for the family — the archive of where we come from.

Who is “Kalli”?
Kalli is what friends have called Martin Kallenbach since school days, and it stuck — on the blog, in e-mail addresses, and now in this domain. The family behind it is a blended one: Martin and Liisa, our children and grandchildren in Finland, Germany and Switzerland, and the relatives on both sides who make the story worth telling.
