In a week I have a one day UK trip; checking the flight cost for a return flight from Helsinki I found it very expensive. So I developed a creative improvement (so I hope).
I'll fly sunday noon to UK (blue1 to LHR) so I can visit AXA friends in Bristol. Monday evening, after my workshop in Southwood I fly to Germany (Germanwings to CGN), so I can bring some stuff for family members there, and also I can meet some Nokia people in Ratingen on tuesday. Tuesday afternoon I fly back to Helsinki (Airberlin). Savings are about 300€ compared with the simple return flight. I call that a win-win-win, and I'm not sure if anyone of my colleagues would have even checked the price. The cost saving attitude from AXA is quite deep in me.
Later in October I'll be going to a conference in Prague. I found quite cheap flight tickets, and I will go there on the Friday, together with Lissu. So we have the weekend in a cheaper hotel, and will enjoy seeing this great old town together. From tuesday to thursday I'll be on the conference, so Lissu might be a bit "alone" - so we started ideas who could join her for these days in Prague. That is still underway.
