Life keeps running in all directions
This is not just about going north that much is clear. In August 2012 I resigned from Nokia after 4 good and full years and joined HCL. Unlike Nokia, HCL is clearly successful, growing, and focused on IT Infrastructure Services, so I felt that the overall idea of this change was convincing.
I'm now "Global Service Delivery Manager" to the UPM account in HCL. The service commencement for this large contract was on September first, so with me joining in August 22nd, I really jumped on a racing roller coaster. If I'd need an excuse for not writing, this job is a good one.
So since September I spent almost 40 days in India, which is about 25% of my time (the distinction between weekends and workdays is somewhat endangered anyway, so I count gross time).
I took me a while to notice that from the scope, the size of the team and budget, and overall, this was actually a real career step; I had not thought about it that way (which tells a bit).
I'm learning a lot, and there's a lot of great new experiences and people, and now it's more east than north (even though UPM is still "north").
Now, the idea is to start capturing some of the thoughts and learning here, for me, and "to whom it may concern". We'll see.
